We offer repair services, at no cost to you, throughout the lifetime of your knife. MTN Forged Knives will cover all parts and labor costs; we do however charge a flat $10 Return Shipping & Processing Fee.

There may be some limitations to repair services:

  • The availability of parts. Whether or not your model of knife is in active production may affect the availability of parts.
  • Natural expiration. Materials degrade over time with use and exposure to elements. If the integrity of your knife is compromised due to natural wear and tear, repair might not be possible.

MTN Forged Knives confidently extends a limited warranty for the lifetime of the original owner. We guarantee our knives against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship and to perform as advertised when properly used and maintained. The Limited Lifetime Warranty is non-transferable and does not extend to the following:

  • Natural wear and tear
  • Damage caused by neglect (i.e. failure to perform necessary maintenance)
  • Any knife that is modified from its original factory condition
  • Damage due to improper use (i.e. using the knife as a throwing knife, screwdriver, pry bar, or chisel, etc.)
  • Accident, loss, or theft

Any knife that we determine to be defective will be repaired or replaced solely at our discretion. To receive warranty repair or replacement, please complete and submit the Warranty/Repair Form on this page.

Knives are subject to a wide variety of federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Make sure that you are in compliance with the laws and regulations in your area before purchase, use, or ownership. Because laws and regulations are constantly changing in nature and complexity, it is the responsibility of the buyer to investigate and comply with the laws and regulations that apply in their specific area. You, and not MTN Forged Knives, are solely responsible for any claims resulting from violation of these laws and/or regulations.

There are certain states that do not allow O.T.F. knives to be carried by civilians. Active military and law enforcement officers are the exception and are permitted to carry automatic knives in any state. By purchasing an O.T.F. from our website, you are acknowledging that you have the legal capacity to do so. Review the map below as general reference to see if it is legal to carry an O.T.F. knife in your state (last updated 6/6/2018).

There are many state laws regarding knives. Consult the AKTI Website for a full outline of knife laws and regulations in the United States.

The Switchblade Act, (Pub.L. 85-623, 72 Stat. 562, enacted on August 12, 1958, and codified in 15 U.S.C. § 1241–1245), as may be amended, (the “Act”) prohibits shipment of automatic knives across state lines, with the following exceptions:

(a) to civilian or Armed Forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal Government ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of the Federal Government;

(b) to supply or procurement officers of the National Guard, the Air National guard, or militia of a state, territory or the District of Columbia ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in the connection with the activities of such organization;

(c) to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any State or Territory, or any county, city or other political subdivision of a State or Territory;

(d) to manufacturers of such knives or bona fide dealers therein in connection with any shipment made pursuant of an order from any person designated in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c).

Sections 1242 and 1243 of the Act shall not apply to:

(e) any common carrier or contract carrier, with respect to any switchblade knife shipped, transported, or delivered for shipment in interstate commerce in the ordinary course of business;

(f) the manufacture, sale, transportation, distribution, possession, or introduction into interstate commerce, of switchblade knives pursuant to contract with the Armed Forces.

(g) the Armed Forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his duty;

(h) the possession, and transportation upon his person, of any switchblade knife with a blade three inches or less in length by any individual who has only one arm; or

(i) a knife that contains a spring, detent, or other mechanism designed to create a bias toward closure of the blade and that requires exertion applied to the blade by hand wrist, or arm to overcome the bias toward closure to assist in opening the knife.

MTN Forged Knives will not sell to any individual or group outside the State of Utah without the above conditions being met. This does not apply to automatic knives manufactured, distributed, purchased or sold within the State of Utah. Proper identification may be required before the order is shipped in cases where restricted items are purchased.

Knives are extremely sharp tools and should be handled carefully and responsibly. Any use other than cutting (such as prying or twisting) is considered misuse and abuse—and will void your warranty. MTN Forged Knives is not responsible for any injuries resulting from misuse or abuse of the product. Do not operate your knife if you are not sure how to use it, or while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
